Beach

Walk3 minutes

Access

The beach is a 3-minute walk from the house. Walking or biking is strongly recommended in peak season, when beach parking fills up fast.

Parking

Driving on the beach is allowed in New Smyrna Beach and is always free for pedestrians and cyclists. Vehicles: $30 day pass (includes one re-entry that day) or $150 annual pass for non-residents, sold at any access ramp. Nearest ramps: Flagler Avenue (521 Flagler Ave, ~0.5 mi), 3rd Avenue (1100 E 3rd Ave, ~0.4 mi), Crawford Road (801 N Atlantic Ave, ~0.7 mi), Causeway (1400 N Atlantic Ave, ~1.1 mi) and 27th Avenue (3701 S Atlantic Ave, ~3.3 mi).

Rules

  • Always swim near a lifeguard tower and do not go past waist-deep water.
  • The 10 mph speed limit is strictly enforced — fines start at $116.
  • Alcohol is not allowed on the beach. Pour drinks into cups before heading down.
  • Glass containers are prohibited. Single-use plastic cups are allowed; reusable or insulated cups are even better.
  • Pets are not allowed on the beach, except service animals. Parts of Smyrna Dunes Park are dog-friendly.
  • Music or noise heard from more than 50 feet away is illegal.
  • Do not disturb the dune vegetation.
  • No driving or parking in the conservation zone (past the poles marking it).
  • Grilling is allowed; if you use charcoal, take it with you — it can't go in the beach bins or be left in the sand.
  • NSB is a sea turtle nesting area — don't disturb nests or use bright lights near the beach after dark.

Tips from your hosts: chairs, umbrellas, towels, a utility cart, toys and sporting equipment are in the garage — please rinse and return them. Bikes are in the garage too (lock code 81518). Get there early on holidays, when ramps can close at capacity. Bring shade, or rent it by the big yellow lifeguard tower. The car-wash bucket in the garage makes a great hand-rinse bucket — fill it at the outdoor shower. Reapply sunscreen every 90 minutes, and check surf conditions before you swim. The free Volusia Beaches app shows ramp status, flag colors and parking in real time.

"Antonio's place is amazing and he was a fantastic host. The house is better than advertised. The backyard is an oasis; the house is steps from the beach; and a very short walk to the restaurants, shops and bars on Flagler. We are already looking to rebook a stay for next year!"
